Title:
ARSET - Agricultural Crop Monitoring with Synthetic Aperture Radar and Optical Remote Sensing
Status:
Closed
Creation Year:
2023
Completion Date:
2023 Q3
Description:

The 3rd edition of ARSET agriculture webinar was jointly organised by ESA/NASA in the framework of WGCapD. It focused on combining SAR and optical data for agricultural classification and monitoring, using tools such as SNAP and Jupyter Notebook, and consisted of 3 2.5 hour sessions for students to follow in either English or Spanish: ‘Monitor crop growth with polarimetric time series SAR data from Sentinel-1’, ‘Examine crop growth using a canopy structure dynamic model and time series of Sentinel-1 imagery’, and ‘Classify crop type using a time series of radar and optical imagery (Sentinel-1 & Sentinel-2)’. Information on the course is available at: https://eo4society.esa.int/event/2023-arset-agriculture-webinar/. The course was attended by 1977 students, from 107 countries.
