August 2021: Landsat CARD4L datasets have been released on the Amazon Cloud and are ready for public use. Similarly, Sentinel-2 data is available on the Amazon Cloud though its CARD4L compliance is still under evaluation. The Microsoft Azure Cloud and the Microsoft Planetary computer also host Landsat and Sentinel-2 datasets in COG format and with STAC metadata. Finally, Google Earth Engine continues to acquire Landsat and Sentinel datasets (including Sentinel-1 radar) and has recently included Landsat Collection-2 (CARD4L compliant) to its archive. These "Big Data" hosts and aggregators have established formal pipelines to acquire and offer CEOS data to global users. In the future, it is expected that much of this data will be CARD4L compliant.
