Develop a CARD4L PFS for Water Leaving / Aquatic Reflectance.
August 2021: Draft Aquatic Reflectance (AR) CARD4L PFS was provided at LSI-VC-10 (May 2021) for review. Several new requirements in the AR CARD4L PFS were requested to have citable evidence of being achievable by data providers. AR CARD4L PFS team went back to the GEO Aquawatch (scientific expert) team for that information and expect to have that provided prior to 2021 CEOS SIT TW for LSI-VC electronic endorsement consideration.
The CEOS Land Surface Imaging Virtual Constellation (LSI-VC) endorsed a new Analysis Ready Data (ARD) Product Family Specification (PFS) for Aquatic Reflectance (AR) products. The specification was developed in collaboration between the LSI-VC, USGS, GA and GEO AquaWatch.
An example of a potential CEOS-ARD is the Landsat 8 Provisional Aquatic Reflectance product, which is derived from Landsat 8 Level-1 reflective visible spectral bands over inland water bodies and nearshore coastal regions.
The AR PFS Version 1.0 was published on ceos.org/ard on 23 February 2022. Feedback from the community and data providers is welcome at all times and will be input to the annual PFS update cycle, ensuring the PFS remains up-to-date, relevant and consistent with the full collection of CEOS-ARD PFS.
