GEOGLAM will internally lead the development of EAVs and ARD+ based on both biophysical and political requirements. This activity is already underway with a version already under review. Production of these EAVs for GEOGLAM will require a long-term coordinated effort between GEOGLAM and the CEOS Working Group Calibration/Validation?s Land Product Validation (LPV) sub-group. It is proposed that in 2020;the mechanisms for such a collaboration are characterized.
Ongoing. GEOGLAM has established a sub-working group under its EO Data Coordination Thematic Coordination Team focused on rigorously defining the EAVs. A white paper was created in early 2019 and is available on www.geoglam.org. It requires revision, and the GEOGLAM WG on EAVs will hold a 2 day workshop (hosted by UCL-Belgium) in late October 2019 to advance this work. CEOS will be kept abreast and the evolution of the activity will be reported on at SIT, SIT TW, and CEOS Plenary of 2020.
