Final document expected Q1 2019. During the 4/2015 ACC-11 meeting, pre-launch calibration plans for each mission were shared and discussed. Data file format and metadata convention from the Sentinel-5P mission were circulated for consideration as draft standards for the 3 GEO missions. A new document is now being prepared to define calibration needs for the constellation, with a complete draft due Q2 2016 and target for final completion Q2 2017.In discussion with SIT Chair 6/2016, agreed to keep this action open to bring visibility to ongoing activities. Correcting an earlier typographical mistake, the document being prepared is focused on product validation rather than calibration needs.  Draft now anticipated Q3 2017.2017/06/07 Draft document will be discussed during AC-VC-13 meeting, June 2017.2017/10 Update: Candidate constellation products were discussed during AC-VC-13 and complete document draft is imminent. 2018/03 Update - Anticipated Q4 2018.2018/08 Update: Document is in near-final state. Validation goals have been agreed to. Awaiting input from individual mission teams on current status and ongoing discussion with WGCV members.

2019/09/17 The document "Geostationary Satellite Constellation for Observing Global Air Quality: Geophysical Validation Needs" was submitted to the SIT-TW 2019 for consideration of submitting to CEOS Plenary 2019 for endorsement. AC-VC recommends that VC-03 now evolve to implementation of the document's recommendations with a target deliverable date of 2022 Q2.

2019/10/17  The Geo-AQ Validation Needs white paper was endorsed by CEOS Plenary. The intent is for AC-VC to now proceed with coordinating activities that support implementation of the eight recommendations made in the white paper. Thus this Deliverable is closed and a new Deliverable will be opened regarding implementation of the recommendations.
