Development of prototype COVERAGE system demonstrating core functionality for limited datasets
Oct 06, 2017:This work is scheduled to begin in May, 2018Dec 14, 2017:Given the initiation of the Phase A activity in November, Phase B, which involves the development of the prototype system, will not likely actually kick off until the start of Q4, 2018
The COVERAGE Phase-B proposal to NASA for support of this one-year activity, focusing on the implementation of a COVERAGE protoype system for demonstration, has now been approved, and the Phase-B work kicked-off at JPL in September. It will involve the following key elements:
The goal is to have a prototype COVERAGE product available for demonstration and feedback within a year.
The COVERAGE Phase B (prototype system) implementation work is proceeding nominally and should complete by end Sept.2021, a year after the work was initiated as projected.
We intend to have a COVERAGE side meeting even at the next SIT-TW meeting to review status, capabilities, and solicit comment in anticipation of a future Phase C activity.
The completion date of COV-4 will need to be updated from 2020 Q1 to 2020 Q4 given that, as stated in the latest progress report submitted, the one-year Phase-B activity was just recently approved and initiated in September 2019.
