Update March 2018:  The action was closed without having been completed.

September 2017: The SEO presented a status report at the LSI-VC meeting in September 2017. There are a number of tools available for requirements assessment (e.g. MIM database, COVE, Data Policy Portal). It was agreed that a general gap analysis is very difficult and requires a significant amount of time and effort to obtain accurate results. CEOS should focus on developing specific measurement requirements assessments for priority CEOS initiatives (e.g GFOI, GEOGLAM) as those needs arise. The SEO shall be the POC for such analyses and requirements assessments.

April 2017: In an attempt to improve the assessment of gaps/opportunities for the use of CEOS assets to address domain specific requirements, the SEO and ESA are working on several updates to the MIM (Mission, Instrument, Measurement) database that will convert current content to a database format and provide an API for powerful analyses capability. In addition, the SEO is working with LSI-VC to develop a generic requirements assessment progress. Further updates on both of these activities will be reported in Sept 2017.

The action to establish suitable approaches for analyzing multiple sets of domain-specific requirements is dependent on the progress of CARB-13. Rationalisation of LSI within CEOS is a current topic of discussion, and the joint meeting of LSI-VC, SDCG, and GEOGLAM will take place in September and progress the conversation.
