The announcement that SRTM Data will be made more globally available by the United States Government is a major step forward for use of Earth observations from space, making it easier to provide tools and materials to enable end-users to engage with DEM data. WGCapD will develop an overarching strategy for capacity building workshops around this significant dataset. The strategy will be prepared for consideration by the 29th CEOS Plenary Meeting.
