CEOS WGCV and its relevant subgroups, in consultation with the CEOS Carbon Subgroup (recommended in Carbon-Action-38), will organize and coordinate carbon data product intercomparison activities as they are identified as priorities for CEOS action and in coordination with the wider carbon cycle science community.

Assessment is nearly complete but the consolidation/merging of different input into one work plan is ongoing.
Results: Several action items are fully/partially aligned to ongoing work on sub-group level and to cross-cutting tasks or action items in the WGCV.
Hint: some of action items don't directly translate; some can be combined. An adequate alignment matrix will be provided with the consolidation of the assessment.
A pre-requisite for this action item is the set-up of measures as described for Actions 26 and 29 as consistent baseline to carry out the inter-comparisons. It shall be worth to note that experience in inter-comparison between different sensor data records can be also gained from GSICS. Another task is (see for example concretely related in Action 8 for terrestrial products) the existence of globally representative validation approaches and common acknowledged comparison references. The activities related to this action item shall be strongly related to those of Actions 26 and 29.
